Every two years, the Department of Justice works with the Governor and Legislative Assembly to develop a budget for the coming biennium. The Agency Request Budget (ARB) is prepared by Division management and staff and then submitted to the Governor for use in preparing the Governor’s Requested Budget. The Governor’s budget is then submitted to the Legislative Assembly, which produces a Legislatively Adopted Budget.
The ARB reflects the resources needed to support the operations of the Department and describes our work in all eight Divisions. It also describes the requests we will be making for additional resources beyond what is needed to continue our current work. The most notable request in this budget is for the funding to continue the project to modernize the Child Support Program’s computer system.
