Jody and Jacky Allard Charged with 40 Counts of Child Pornography in Lane County

July 31, 2014

SALEM—The Oregon Department of Justice today announced the arraignment of Eugene brothers Jody and Jacky Allard in Lane County following extradition from Colorado to Eugene. The two men were arrested in Colorado in May 2014. They are each charged with 20 counts of encouraging child sex abuse based on images found on their computers.

“There is absolutely no tolerance for child pornography in Oregon. We need to stand up for vulnerable children and ensure that no child is exploited in person, or online,” said Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum.

Earlier this year, the Oregon Department of Justice, through its Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, acted on several cyber-tips received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On March 4, 2014 the Allard’s were served a search warrant at their Eugene residence. The search led to the seizure of several computers and electronic devices that were later forensically examined. On April 17, 2014 a Lane County Jury indicted the men with encouraging child sex abuse in the 1st and 2nd degree.

Oregon’s ICAC task force includes investigators and prosecutors who track, investigate and pursue crimes against children.

In May, Oregon’s ICAC task force participated in a national effort, Operation Broken Heart, to stop child predators. The month-long effort led to 83 cyber tips received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which resulted in 65 investigations, 33 forensic examinations, 15 court orders, 9 search warrants, and five arrests in Oregon, including Jody and Jacky Allard.

Rosenblum thanked the ICAC team, along with the Eugene Police Department and the Lane County District Attorney’s office, all of whom had a role in the follow up that lead to the arrests.
