The Governor, who requested the Measure 7 opinion from the Attorney General, has asked the Attorney General to hold off release of the preliminary opinion in light of the recent injunction put in place by Judge Lipscomb. The injunction prevents the law from going into effect until further action is taken by the court and eliminates some of the urgency associated with providing legal interpretation and guidance to state agencies by December 7, the measure's effective date. The Attorney General will continue with the legal analysis of the measure and give the Governor the completed opinion in the near future, probably within 3-4 weeks.
