The Department of Justice, Division of Child Support (DCS) today announced the implementation of an on-line Oregon Child Support Program Guidelines calculator program. This easy to use Internet guide provides an estimate of the amount of child support that may be ordered on a case-by-case basis.

As part of the Division's continuing commitment to providing exceptional customer service, the Oregon Child Support Program Guidelines calculator was created to simplify the complex calculations involved in determining child support.

The DCS calculator establishes potential child support orders based on the Oregon Administrative Rules. The amounts generated are only estimates--final child support orders are determined by the administrator, a Hearings Officer, or the Court. The calculator does not supplant this process.

The first phase of this calculator program is currently on-line and provides for a standard calculation. More individualized calculations, including shared custody, split custody and the application of rebuttals, will be added in future phases.
