New Executive Assistant To Attorney General Joins Oregon Department Of Justice
Attorney General Hardy Myers today announced the hiring of Jacob Weigler to serve as his Executive Assistant at the Oregon Department of Justice. Weigler will be responsible for media relations, legislative activities, policy development and managing constituent correspondence for the Department.
"I am pleased Jacob has joined us and believe he will be a strong asset to the team," Myers said. "His previous experience in communications and political advocacy here at home and in Washington D.C. will serve the people of Oregon well."
An Oregon native with a B.A. from New York University and M.A. from the University of Texas-Austin, Weigler succeeds Stephanie Soden, who has held the position since 2006 and is leaving the Department to join the Metropolitan Exposition-Recreation Commission. Weigler most recently served as campaign manager of Steve Novick's unsuccessful bid for U.S. Senate and has previously worked as Deputy Communications Director for Governor Ted Kulongoski, Research Director at the Washington D.C.-based non-profit Media Matters for America, and as a researcher at the Democratic National Committee.
