During the 2009 legislative session, the Department of Justice proposed and the Legislature enacted Senate Bill 233
- landmark legislation that allows crime victims to uphold their
constitutional rights in a court of law. The Attorney General’s Task
Force on Victims’ Rights Enforcement was also created to develop
legislative recommendations to further improve the protection of rights
granted to victims of crime in Oregon.
Task Force is required to submit two reports to the Senate and
the Speaker of the House of Representatives no later than January 1,
2011, and January 1, 2013. The term of appointment to the Task Force on
Victims’ Rights Enforcement runs through June 30, 2013.
The Task Force is divided into eight subcommittees or work groups, each of them focus on one of the following issues:
