Below you will find the beginnings of a toolkit that is being developed via a joint effort between the Crime Victims' Services Division of the Oregon Department of Justice and a District Attorney Victim Assistance Program (VAP) Workgroup. In an effort to assist VAPs in the work they do, three sub-workgroups met to develop the documents contained in the attached toolkit. Also contained in the toolkit are scenarios to assist in identifying under what circumstances these tools can be used. These tools are meant to be implemented as guides and guidelines to put best practices in place in the areas of:
Defining Discovery of Evidence and Exculpatory Evidence;
Confidentiality Agreements (to be in compliance of both VAWA and VOCA requirements); and
Release of Information Forms.
Thank you to all the DA-VAPs who helped to develop and review the documents contained in this toolkit.
