This session will provide an overview of business identity theft and its ramifications. Attendees will learn how to report and correct business identity theft and about the model approach designed by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Colorado Secretary of State. Additionally, this session will include information about ongoing national efforts to raise awareness about business identity theft.

Presenters will also discuss other ways perpetrators use stolen information to defraud business such as business email compromises, fraudulent websites, and wire transfers, and share strategies for advocates to use in assisting victims of these crimes. Questions will be encouraged and addressed throughout the presentation.
