Rodolfo Cernatez, Jr., was sentenced to 463 months in prison followed by a year in jail

Attorney General John Kroger today announced the conviction and sentencing of an Ontario barber for molesting three teens.

“This man is a dangerous predator,” said Deputy Attorney General Mary Williams. “The public will be much safer because he is going to be locked up for a long time.”

Rodolfo Cervantes, Jr., was sentenced on Oct. 1 in Malheur County Circuit Court to 463 months prison – nearly 39 years – plus an additional year in jail. Cervantes was convicted of a total of 21 counts of sodomy, sexual abuse, delivery of a controlled substance to a minor and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Cervantes met two of his victims through the Ontario barber shop where he worked. The third victim was the son of an acquaintance. Cervantes previously served time in prison for sexually abusing a minor.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Stephanie Tuttle prosecuted the case for the Oregon Department of Justice.

Attorney General John Kroger leads the Oregon Department of Justice. The Department’s mission is to fight crime and fraud, protect the environment, improve child welfare, promote a positive business climate, and defend the rights of all Oregonians.
