Wendy Kay Cannin was sentenced to 3 years in prison after pleading guilty to various sex charges
Attorney General John Kroger today announced that a former Heppner High School teacher was sentenced to 3 years in prison for having sexual contact with two students
“It is particularly offensive for a teacher to prey on students,” said Attorney General Kroger.
Wendy Kay Cannin (DOB: 7/22/79) of 360 Water St. in Heppner today pleaded guilty to Rape in the Third Degree, Sodomy in the Third Degree and Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree. Cannin admitted having sexual contact with two of her students at the school. She had an on-going relationship with one of them.
After serving her sentence, Cannin must register as a sex offender.
Senior Assistant Attorney General Rachel Bridges prosecuted the case for the Oregon Department of Justice.
