​Today, Oregon’s Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum announced that Oregon has been granted its request to join the federal lawsuit brought by the Washington Attorney General against President Trump’s Executive Order pertaining to his, so far, ill-fated attempted immigration ban.

On February 23, 2017, Oregon filed its motion to intervene in the Western District of Washington. Today, the Court granted the motion. Shortly before the court’s ruling, the Washington Attorney General announced that he will amend the lawsuit early next week to include Oregon, New York and possibly other states.

Statement from Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum:

“I am pleased that several state attorneys general are combining our resources to continue to fight the President’s attempt to fulfill a campaign promise of banning Muslims from entering the United States. Though repackaged, the President’s revised Executive Order has the same discriminatory intent as the first one. The President lost the first round in court. We will continue to assert the Constitution and the Rule of Law in arguing that his second attempt is seriously flawed and should join its sister Executive Order in the trash bin of history.”
