AUTO BROKER BANNED FROM DOING BUSINESS IN OREGON

December 6, 2010

Eugene Norville Hubbell took money from consumers for high-end automobiles he allegedly never intended to deliver

Attorney General John Kroger today announced an order barring Washington resident Eugene Norville Hubbell and his business One Network E, Inc. from doing business related to motor vehicle sales in the State of Oregon.

The Department of Justice began investigating One Network E earlier this year after receiving information from the Oregon DMV that Hubbell might be operating without a dealer's license in violation of state consumer protection law.

Two complaints were also filed with the police accusing Hubbell of taking a total of more than $90,000 from these consumers for the purchase of automobiles that were never delivered.

Hubbell ignored a civil investigative demand for information from the Department of Justice in July. As a result, the Department obtained a court order prohibiting Hubbell and One Network from engaging in any business that involves selling or offering for sale motor vehicles in the State of Oregon and from providing any services to assist in locating, obtaining and purchasing motor vehicles until they fully comply the Department of Justice's investigative demand.

Assistant Attorney General Eva H. Novick handled the case for the Oregon Department of Justice.

Attorney General John Kroger leads the Oregon Department of Justice. The Department's mission is to fight crime and fraud, protect the environment, improve child welfare, promote a positive business climate, and defend the rights of all Oregonians.
