CVCP Training: Learn more about Oregon’s Crime Victims’ Compensation Program (CVCP). The CVCP works to ease financial burden suffered by hundreds of Oregonians each year. This training includes information about program eligibility and benefits, the application process and how payments are handled. Participants will be introduced to the CVCP Client Portal, where they will create an account and practice submitting an application electronically in our computer lab. This 3 1/2 day, comprehensive training teaches the Oregon Interviewing Guidelines Forensic Interview Structure, which is designed to gather the greatest amount of reliable information in a child-sensitive, developmentally-appropriate, and legally-defensible manner. The Oregon Child Forensic Interview Training is evidence-based, supported by current research, and approved by the National Children’s Alliance to meet the Forensic Interview Training Standards. This training is typically attended by Center-Based child forensic interviewers, Law Enforcement, and DHS professionals.
NOVA’s Basic Crisis Response Team Training

This 24-hour Basic Crisis Response Team training focuses on providing trauma mitigation and education in the aftermath of a critical incident, either small-scale or mass-casualty, scaling the response to the need, from one individual to thousands (i.e., the “Walking Worried”). NOVA CRT training is used by tribal communities, mental health professionals, first responders, school counselors, human resource departments and victim advocates.

Sexual Assault Medical-Forensic (SANE) Mock Exams

This training is offered free of charge to SANEs/SAEs and advocates (system- and community-based). It is intended to support SANEs/SAEs and advocates who may respond to sexual assault medical-forensic exams by providing practice updates and mock exams in a supportive environment.
