About Scam Jam
American consumers lose billions of dollars to frauds and scams each year. Studies show the hardest hit are often age 55 and over. To help prevent these losses, we’ve teamed up with AARP Oregon and the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services to present an ongoing series of events hosted throughout the state.
These educational and entertaining programs – Scam Jams – offer practical advice about scams and schemes, including:
- insurance and investment fraud
- online and door-to-door scams
- identity theft
- other scams targeting older consumers
Scam Jams are free, but seating is limited. Registration is required.
From shopping to banking, Oregonians are going digital. But do you know how to stay safe online?
Join AARP Oregon, the Oregon Dept. of Justice and the Dept. of Consumer & Business Services for an fraud prevention workshop. Speakers include Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum and other experts from AARP, DCBS and the Federal Trade Commission.
This is a free event. Lunch will be provided.
