Update

On 7/21/25, the plaintiff states filed their complaint » and preliminary injunction motion ». Defendants subsequently agreed not to enforce the PRWORA notices at issue in the lawsuit through 8/29/25, in exchange for an extended briefing schedule in the case.

The court held a hearing on the preliminary injunction motion on 8/20/25.

On 9/10/25 the district court issued a preliminary injunction order ».

On 9/23/25, plaintiffs filed an amended complaint.

On 11/7/25, defendants filed a notice of appeal from the preliminary injunction.

On 12/11/25, pursuant to the parties’ stipulation, defendants voluntarily dismissed their appeal. The same day, the parties jointly moved the district court for a briefing schedule for summary judgment motions.
