Update

On 4/10/25, the plaintiff states filed their complaint.

On 4/11/25, plaintiffs filed a motion for preliminary injunction.

On 5/6, the district court issued a preliminary injunction barring the Department of Education from terminating the funds.

After the Department of Education again tried to end access to the funds, on 6/3/25 the district court issued a second preliminary injunction barring them from doing so.

On 6/4/25, the government appealed.

On 6/20/25, the Second Circuit denied the government’s motion for a stay pending appeal.

On 8/11/25, the Second Circuit issued an order effectuating the parties’ stipulated withdrawal of the appeal.

On 11/17/25, the district court so-ordered the parties’ stipulation settling the case.
