Update

On 4/29/25, the plaintiff states filed their complaint.

On 5/7/25, the plaintiff states filed a motion for preliminary injunction.

The court held a hearing on that motion on 5/19/25 and requested further briefing from the parties.

On 6/5/2025, the court issued an order that blocks the defendant’s attempt to dismantle AmeriCorps.

On 7/10/25, the court issued an order modifying the preliminary injunction.

On 7/24/25, the plaintiff states filed an amended complaint.

On 8/7/25, the plaintiff states filed a second motion for preliminary injunction.

On 9/4/25, the court granted the parties’ joint request to stay the preliminary injunction briefing schedule, pending release of the challenged funds.

On 9/30/25, the parties filed a joint status report in which defendants confirmed that all remaining Fiscal Year 2025 funds have been awarded by AmeriCorps and plaintiffs withdrew their second motion for preliminary injunction. The parties continue to litigate the case in district court.
