Update

On 4/4/25, the plaintiff states filed their complaint.

On 5/29/25, the plaintiff states filed a motion for partial summary judgment.

On 7/14/25, federal defendants filed a cross motion for partial summary judgment. Those motions are currently being briefed before the district court.

On 1/9/26, the district court issued an order granting the plaintiff states’ motion for partial summary judgment in part.

On 3/10/26, defendants filed a notice of appeal.

On 4/17/26, the plaintiff states filed a motion for summary judgment. On the same day, the federal defendants filed a motion for partial summary judgment.

On 5/6/26, the Ninth Circuit issued an order staying appellate proceedings until resolution of the case in the district court.
